Yes. Every painting on this site is a one off oil painting made by hand. There are no prints and no editions. When a painting sells it is gone.

No. Paintings are sold unframed, with the edges finished, so they can be hung as they are or framed to suit your room. I would rather you chose the frame than have me choose it for you and add it to the price.

Oil paint takes six to twelve months to cure properly, and varnishing before then damages the painting. Selling unvarnished is standard practice for fresh work. The painting is finished and stable as it is. Varnish is optional even later, and if you want it done once the painting has cured, get in touch and I will talk you through it.

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators, stoves and damp. Dust it with a dry, soft brush, never a cloth and never anything wet. That is genuinely all there is to it.

Occasionally, for places and things rather than portraits. If there is a spot in Wexford that means something to you, tell me about it and I will say honestly whether I am the right person to paint it.
